Vancouver rollover crash disrupts traffic near Science World
A white SUV rolled onto its roof near Science World on Friday afternoon, prompting detours and delays on Quebec Street.

A white SUV rolled onto its roof at the entrance and exit of a parking lot at Quebec Street and National Avenue in Vancouver on Friday afternoon, disrupting traffic near Science World. Fire trucks and Vancouver Police Department vehicles attended the scene.
Cyclists and pedestrians stopped to photograph the aftermath, contributing to delays on Quebec Street. VPD officers asked passersby whether they had seen the collision, and one driver stopped to provide dashcam footage for the investigation.
VPD set up detours on Pacific Boulevard, directing southbound traffic onto Quebec Street. Southbound traffic on Quebec Street was also slow as drivers reduced speed to view the crash scene. Drivers travelling through the area were advised to allow extra time.
Traffic delays are also expected this week on Oak Street between West 10th and West 12th Avenues, where temporary 24-hour closures began Thursday, Sept. 10. The closures support crane work for Vancouver Coastal Health’s Vancouver General Hospital Operating Room Renewal Project.
Oak Street will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions until Tuesday, Sept. 22. West 10th Avenue and West 12th Avenue will remain open during construction, though intermittent closures may occur. The City of Vancouver said access to nearby residences, businesses and health services will be maintained, and advised people visiting Vancouver General Hospital or other facilities in the 10th Avenue health precinct to use an alternate route and allow extra travel time.
