One person died after a motorcycle crashed in the 20500-block of 16 Avenue on the night of Tuesday, Oct. 6. Langley RCMP and other first responders were called at 10:17 p.m., said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, spokesperson for the local detachment. The crash involved only the motorcycle, and the rider apparently lost control and left the road.

“Tragically, despite life-saving efforts, one individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” Sharoom said. The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called in to help investigate the cause. Partial road closures remained in place for several hours after the crash.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the crash is asked to call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file No. 2026-32058. Crashes are fairly common on 16 Avenue, a busy through road used by commuters and truck traffic travelling through Abbotsford and into Surrey.
