A Surrey nurse has been suspended for three weeks over the care of a critically ill patient
The B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives says Jatinderjit “Rosey” Saran mismanaged an emergency patient’s care in 2024. She completed remedial education and remains at the same hospital.

A licensed practical nurse in Surrey received a three-week suspension this August over practice concerns from 2024, according to the B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives. The college says Jatinderjit “Rosey” Saran mismanaged the care of an emergency room patient in critical condition on Sept. 12, 2024.
In a public notice last month, the college said that despite Saran’s experience and extensive tenure as an emergency room nurse, she deviated from practice standards during a particular shift, creating an unreasonable risk of harm to the patient. Saran has completed remedial education and continues to work at the same hospital, the college says.
In 2021, the college restricted Saran’s practice to sub-acute areas for 12 months after citing her “failure to assess, medicate and document accurately on deteriorating patients,” among other issues.
