Candidate packages available for Coquitlam's 2026 local election

Candidate packages are now available for people planning to run in Coquitlam's 2026 General Local Election on Oct. 17.

Packages can be found at coquitlam.ca/candidates or picked up from the City Clerk's Office on the second floor of City Hall, 3000 Guildford Way, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Voters will elect a mayor, eight councillors and four School District 43 trustees for four-year terms. Anyone seeking nomination for mayor, council or school trustee must meet the Local Government Act requirements at the time of nomination.

Nominations will be accepted from 9 a.m. Sept. 1 until 4 p.m. Sept. 11. The city says voting details will be posted at coquitlam.ca/elections and sent to households closer to the voting period.
