TEAM adds five candidates to Vancouver civic-election slate
TEAM for a Livable Vancouver has nominated five more candidates for the 2026 civic election while renewing its opposition to the defeated Villages Plan.

TEAM for a Livable Vancouver has added five candidates to its slate for Vancouver’s October 2026 civic election, bringing its announced lineup to seven council candidates, two park board candidates and one school board candidate, alongside mayoral candidate Colleen Hardwick.
Josh Gordon and Patrick Sauriol will seek council seats. Gordon is a federal government statistician and former Simon Fraser University public-policy instructor, while Sauriol is a technology entrepreneur and former executive director of DigiBC. Wah Gee and Alex Tkach are running for park board, and Kat Nystedt, Hardwick’s daughter, is the party’s first school board candidate.
The party also renewed its opposition to the City of Vancouver’s Villages Plan, which council rejected 10-1 on July 28 after a public hearing. The proposal would have added low-rise, multi-family density and retail villages in 17 low-density residential areas.
OneCity councillor Lucy Maloney was the lone vote in favour. TEAM called on OneCity to clarify whether it supports reviving the proposal after the election and said its own candidates would oppose a return of the plan.
TEAM has also said it would repeal six area development plans if it won a council majority, including the citywide Official Development Plan approved in March 2026. In a recent Research Co. survey, Hardwick had 14 per cent support among decided voters, compared with 30 per cent for Ken Sim and 19 per cent each for Kareem Allam and Pete Fry.
