Surrey council candidate Jasroop Gosal wants to streamline business permits
The Surrey First candidate, a government relations manager with the BC Real Estate Association, says he would review permitting, speed approvals and create a one-stop shop for business licensing.

Jasroop Gosal is running for Surrey city council with Surrey First. He is a government relations manager with the BC Real Estate Association and previously worked as policy manager with the Surrey Board of Trade. His campaign priorities are business development and reducing red tape.
Gosal’s top three priorities are cutting red tape for local business permits and approvals, making Surrey the most business-friendly city in B.C., and supporting innovation, trade and supply chain sectors. He says business owners have repeatedly told him that permitting delays and red tape cost them time and money. Drawing on his work with the Surrey Board of Trade and the BC Real Estate Association, he would push for a top-to-bottom review of city permitting, faster approvals and a one-stop shop for business licensing.
Gosal says reducing red tape would help keep jobs and investment in Surrey instead of losing them to neighbouring cities. He says he has spent his career cutting through red tape for businesses and would do the same at City Hall if elected.
