Bruins documentary appears to reveal possible Filip Hronek trade proposal with Canucks
A screen shown in the Bruins’ Behind the B series appeared to outline a deal for Filip Hronek, though there is no evidence the Canucks and Bruins held talks.

The latest episode of the Boston Bruins documentary series Behind the B appears to have briefly shown a possible trade proposal involving Vancouver Canucks defenceman Filip Hronek. A screen behind Bruins general manager Don Sweeney during the start of NHL free agency was spotted by a fan on the r/Canucks subreddit.
Though the image is blurry, it appears to show Hronek going to Boston for prospect defenceman Liam Pettersson and first-round picks in 2027 and 2028. It is not clear whether the proposal came from the Bruins, the Canucks, or was simply internal brainstorming that never led to discussions between the clubs.
Other entries on the screen suggest it may have reflected real plans or talks. It listed Joonas Korpisalo going to the New York Rangers for Kalle Vaisanen and a 2028 fourth-round pick, a trade that occurred. It also listed Connor Clifton signing for two years at $2.5 million annually; Boston signed him for two years at $2.25 million per year.
Pettersson, a 19-year-old Swedish defenceman, is not among Boston’s top prospects but has raw ability, strong skating and room to grow into his six-foot-two frame. The two first-round picks would have been the key return for Vancouver’s rebuilding effort.
Hronek has said he wants to remain in Vancouver, and the Canucks appear content to keep the veteran defenceman in their rebuilding leadership group. His contract includes a full no-movement clause through 2028, followed by a modified no-trade clause allowing him to submit a 15-team no-trade list. Even if the clubs discussed a deal, there is no proof that they did, and Hronek could have vetoed it.
