A 40-year-old man is in custody and charged with break-and-enter after police say a resident encountered an intruder in her Vancouver home.

A 40-year-old man has been charged after an alleged residential break-in near Grant Street and Victoria Drive in Vancouver.
Police say a resident discovered a man inside her home after coming downstairs from the second floor. The man allegedly took several items before leaving the house.
Neighbours heard the woman scream and called police, providing a description of the suspect. Officers located a man matching that description and arrested him with assistance from the Canine Unit.
Police say some property was recovered and returned to the resident. Malcolm Anthony Lowe is charged with one count of break-and-enter and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
