Richmond RCMP recover and return $17,000 diamond ring
A Richmond resident has been reunited with a 1.31-carat diamond ring valued at about $17,000 after police found it in a No. 3 Road parking lot.

Richmond RCMP say a resident has been reunited with a 1.31-carat diamond ring valued at about $17,000 after it was reported lost in a local parking lot.
Police said the ring was lost at about 4 p.m. July 18 in the 4500 block of No. 3 Road and was reported shortly after midnight on July 19. An officer searched the parking lot, where headlights from the police vehicle reflected off the ring on the ground.
The ring was recovered and secured. Its owner later attended the Richmond RCMP detachment, positively identified it and received it back.
Cpl. Melissa Lui said the quick report and recovery led to a fortunate outcome, and highlighted the value of reporting lost property to police as soon as possible.
