Liboiron leaves Surrey Knights for Surrey Eagles role
Former Surrey Knights coach and general manager Andy Liboiron has joined the Surrey Eagles as video coach and an assistant with the club’s U18 academy team.

Andy Liboiron has moved from the Surrey Knights to the Surrey Eagles, taking on video-coach duties and an assistant role with the BCHL club’s U18 Eagles Academy team.
The Eagles announced the hiring on social media Aug. 8, one month before their first exhibition game of the 2026-27 season. Liboiron began with the North Surrey Knights in 2019 as an assistant coach, later becoming head coach and adding general manager responsibilities.
The Knights credited Liboiron with helping rebuild the program into a contender, saying the work required dedication, sacrifice and belief in the players.
The move comes as junior hockey in British Columbia is being reshaped. The new, BC Hockey-sanctioned British Columbia Hockey Conference is scheduled to launch this fall as a 22-team Junior A league, including the Delta Ice Hawks and seven other teams leaving the Pacific Junior Hockey League.
The PJHL will continue as an eight-team Junior B circuit including the Surrey Knights, White Rock Whalers and Cloverdale HC. The BCHC will compete with the BCHL, which includes the Eagles and left Hockey Canada in 2023 in a move intended to create a stronger pathway to NCAA programs in the United States.
