Burnaby reopens Mountain Air Bike Skills Course as premier riding destination
The City of Burnaby has reopened the Mountain Air Bike Skills Course on Burnaby Mountain, with more than 850 metres of riding terrain for riders of all ages and abilities.

The City of Burnaby officially reopened the Mountain Air Bike Skills Course on Burnaby Mountain on Sept. 3, giving Burnaby residents and riders from across the region access to what the city calls one of North America’s premier mountain biking destinations.
Mayor Mike Hurley said residents had asked for an exceptional facility that could be enjoyed by riders of all ages and abilities. He said the result offers experiences for first-time riders and experienced cyclists and reflects Burnaby’s investment in high-quality recreation opportunities.
The city released a new video to mark the reopening, featuring world-renowned mountain bikers Nicholi Rogatkin and Kaos Seagrave demonstrating the course’s progressive design and range of riding experiences.
The upgraded facility was designed and built by internationally recognized pump-track specialists Velosolutions. It includes more than 850 metres of rideable terrain unique to the area, with BMX jump lines, pump tracks, slopestyle features, dirt-jump lines and an enhanced flow trail for riders of all ages and abilities.
Amadeo Gadotti of Velosolutions described the course as a world-class facility where a rider with beginner-level skills can spend time progressing to any level of cycling.
The final design incorporated feedback gathered during public engagement in 2023, when residents and local riders emphasized the need for a facility supporting all ages, abilities and stages of progression.
The course is open to the public seasonally from April 15 to Oct. 31 each year, from 8 a.m. to dusk.
