Convoy organizer Tamara Lich denied permission for international travel
An Ontario judge has denied Tamara Lich permission to travel abroad, ruling that it would diminish the punitive and deterrent effects of her 12-month house-arrest sentence.

An Ontario judge has denied Tamara Lich, one of the key organizers of the 2022 “Freedom Convoy” protest in Ottawa, permission to travel abroad.
Lich was found guilty of mischief last October for her role in the mass protest, which blockaded downtown Ottawa around Parliament Hill for nearly a month. She was sentenced to 12 months of house arrest.
In July, Lich asked the court for permission to travel internationally, including to take part in a cruise for her work with Rebel News. Ontario Court Justice Heather Perkins-McVey said Lich has complied with the conditions of her sentence, but that the material circumstances of her situation have not changed. Allowing international travel, the judge said, would diminish the sentence’s punitive and deterrent effects.
