Downed wires cut power to two areas of Richmond on Monday

More than 1,000 customers in Richmond were without power early Monday afternoon after wires came down. As of 11 a.m., 847 customers were without electricity in the area north of Alderbridge Way, west of No. 5 Road, south of Caithcart Road and east of No. 4 Road.

A second area—north of Highway 91, south of Montego Street, east of Highway 99 and west of Jensen Drive—was affecting 198 BC Hydro customers. Power went out there shortly after the first outage. BC Hydro crews expected power to return to both areas around 5:15 p.m.
