Richmond Farm Fest returns Sept. 13 to celebrate local agriculture
The free, family-friendly festival at KPU Farm will feature a farmers market, children’s activities, food, music, farm tours and a cooking demonstration.

Richmond Farm Fest will be held Sunday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at KPU Farm at Garden City Lands, 5040 Garden City Rd. The free, family-friendly event is intended to celebrate Richmond’s agricultural roots, active farming, urban-rural landscape and culinary community.
The festival’s farmers market will offer local produce, fresh food and artisanal products, alongside food and drinks from Richmond’s culinary community. In partnership with KPU, the event will sell a Raspberry Hefeweizen produced through the university’s brewing program, made with local berries and an equal mix of base wheat and Canadian malted barley.
The Little Farmers Kids’ Zone will offer activities for children, while agricultural and garden displays will be available throughout the day. The Haybale Theatre will highlight Richmond’s farming heritage, and the Community Stage will feature music. Farm-wagon tours and a culinary demonstration by Black and Blue Steakhouse executive chef Jonathon Lee are also planned.
Attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle or take transit. A free bicycle and e-scooter valet will be available on site. Free parking will be offered at KPU Richmond and Richmond City Hall, with shuttles running from those locations from 10:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
