Crews search Cultus Lake for missing 13-year-old girl

Emergency crews are searching Cultus Lake for a 13-year-old girl who was reported missing Saturday afternoon after falling from a paddleboard, police say.

Upper Fraser Valley Regional RCMP said the girl was believed to have experienced a medical emergency while floating on the board at about 1:21 p.m. She is believed to have entered the water without a life-jacket.

Chilliwack Fire, B.C. Emergency Health Services and Chilliwack Search and Rescue are assisting. Police have asked people to avoid the lake’s Entrance Bay area while the search continues.
