Loblaw to restore country-of-origin signs in produce aisles
Loblaw says it will restore country-of-origin signage in fresh-produce aisles and bring back tariff markers for affected U.S. products after shoppers raised concerns.

Loblaw says shoppers will again see country-of-origin signs in its fresh-produce aisles after customers criticized the removal of the labels.
A company representative said Loblaw will continue using a maple-leaf symbol to help customers identify products made and prepared in Canada. Shelf labels will also again carry a “T” symbol for U.S. products affected by tariffs.
The company said the changes are meant to provide clearer information during renewed trade uncertainty between Canada and the United States, and to make Canadian products easier to identify for customers who want to support domestic suppliers.
The move has received mixed reaction online, with some shoppers saying they welcome clearer labelling and others questioning the accuracy of previous signs or the company’s earlier Buy Canadian campaign.
