Surrey properties with delinquent taxes are scheduled for sale Monday
Surrey’s annual tax sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 28, though owners can prevent a sale by paying outstanding taxes and interest before it begins.

Surrey’s annual tax sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, in the council chambers at Surrey City Hall. Under Section 645 of the Local Government Act, properties with delinquent taxes may be sold unless the taxes and interest are paid before the sale begins.
Hundreds of properties are listed across three pages, although few, if any, typically proceed to sale because owners generally pay the outstanding amounts beforehand. The full list is available under Public Notices on surrey.ca.
One listed property, at 10883 Larson Road, is advertised on realtor.ca for $1.9 million. The website lists annual property taxes of $20,723.54. The city’s Public Notices section also lists permissive property-tax exemptions, mainly for churches, shelters and non-profit spaces; a separate notice identifies Strawberry Hill Library as exempt from property tax.
