Man dies at CRAB Park as Vancouver records its sixth homicide of 2026

Vancouver police say they are investigating the city’s sixth homicide of 2026 after a man died at CRAB Park in the Downtown Eastside early Wednesday.

Officers responded after a report of a man in medical distress. Emergency responders treated him, but he died at the scene. Police have not confirmed the victim’s identity, have located no suspects and have released no further details.

Investigators are asking anyone with information who was near CRAB Park between Tuesday night and 7 a.m. Wednesday to contact them.
