Metro Vancouver forecast to see showers this week and sunshine this weekend
Environment Canada forecasts rain Thursday and Friday, followed by a mostly sunny Saturday before another low-pressure system is expected Monday.

Environment Canada meteorologist Matt Albers says a low-pressure system moving toward Vancouver from west of Washington state will bring showers and cooler temperatures to Metro Vancouver beginning Thursday, Sept. 24. Rain is expected to be fairly steady Thursday afternoon and overnight, with about 10 millimetres forecast across the region.
Friday’s precipitation is expected to be more banded, with some areas receiving little rain while others get heavier showers as bands move through. About 10 mm is forecast, with the banding potentially more pronounced east of Metro Vancouver. A cold front passing through around midday is expected to hold the high to 14 C, down from 17 C Thursday, and could bring waterfront wind gusts of up to 60 kilometres per hour.
The main system is expected to end early Friday evening, though intermittent showers may continue. Saturday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 17 C, close to normal. That pattern is expected to continue through Sunday and into Monday, when another low-pressure system is forecast to arrive and could be somewhat more intense, Albers said.
