Woman critically injured in overnight two-vehicle collision in Surrey
A woman driving a Honda Civic was taken to hospital with critical injuries after a collision with a loaded semi-truck and trailer at a Surrey intersection Thursday night.

Surrey Police Service is investigating a two-vehicle collision that sent one person to hospital with critical injuries.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2026, SPS frontline officers responded at the request of BC Emergency Health Services to a serious collision at 176 Street and 32 Avenue in Surrey. Officers found a significantly damaged Honda Civic and provided emergency medical treatment to its driver until Surrey Fire Service and BC EHS paramedics arrived.
The Honda driver, an adult woman who was the vehicle’s sole occupant, was taken to hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a loaded semi-truck and trailer with minor front-end damage, did not appear to be injured.
SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit has assumed lead responsibility for the investigation. Police say the investigation is at an early stage and alcohol is not believed to have been a contributing factor. Parts of the intersection were closed for several hours overnight and have reopened.
Police are asking witnesses and anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to call Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and quote file 26-100398 (SP).
