ABC Vancouver adds four council candidates for 2026 election

ABC Vancouver has named Arezo Zarrabian, Joyce Gillespie, Lorraine Lowe and David Grewal as additional candidates for Vancouver City Council in the Oct. 17, 2026 civic election.

The four additions bring the governing party’s council slate to nine candidates, excluding Mayor Ken Sim. They join incumbent councillors Lisa Dominato, Sarah Kirby-Yung, Mike Klassen, Peter Meiszner and Lenny Zhou. Former Vancouver Police Department officer Brian Montague will not seek re-election.

According to information supplied by the party, Zarrabian has worked as a Vancouver Police Department crime and data analyst for nearly two decades. Gillespie is the president and co-founder of temporary-labour platform GigHound and has previously held youth-sports volunteer roles in the city.

Lowe is taking leaves from her roles as executive director of the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and vice-chair of the Vancouver Police Board while campaigning. Her previous work includes leading the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and initiatives involving Chinatown seniors and the Downtown Eastside Artist Collective.

Grewal has been a senior adviser to Sim for four years, advising on economic development, community engagement and local governance. He previously chaired the West End Business Improvement Association and founded two Vancouver-based energy companies.

ABC earlier announced seven Vancouver School Board trustee candidates and said it also expects to announce candidates for the Vancouver Park Board.
