B.C. comedian-magician Murray SawChuck to perform one Surrey show

B.C. comedian-magician Murray SawChuck will return to the Lower Mainland for one performance at Yuk Yuk’s Surrey on Sept. 24. The Burnaby-raised entertainer, now based in Las Vegas, is scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m. at the venue inside Elements Casino in Cloverdale.

According to a news release, the event is billed as a “Secret Pop-Up Comedy Magic Show” and a surprise, under-the-radar performance. SawChuck said the shows test the unexpected and are raw and interactive, adding that performing at home brings unmatched audience energy.

The release says SawChuck is making the solitary pop-up appearance to gather material for an upcoming comedy special. Unlike his large-scale productions, the intimate shows are intended to offer new tricks, fresh comedy and spontaneous moments that may not be seen again.

SawChuck has headlined in Las Vegas for more than 10 years and is known for high-energy performances, quick-fire comedy and illusions. He has also appeared as the resident magic expert on the television show Pawn Stars. The release says tickets are extremely limited and expected to sell out quickly; information and tickets are available through the Yuk Yuk’s Surrey website.
