Surrey properties with delinquent taxes are scheduled for sale Monday
Surrey’s annual tax sale is set for 10 a.m. Sept. 28, with owners able to avoid a sale by paying outstanding taxes and interest beforehand.

Hundreds of properties across three pages are listed for Surrey’s annual tax sale, scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, in the Surrey City Hall council chambers.
Under Section 645 of the Local Government Act, properties with delinquent taxes may be sold unless the outstanding taxes and interest are paid before the sale begins. The auction is held once a year, although few, if any, properties typically proceed to sale because owners usually pay before then.
One listed property, 10883 Larson Road, is advertised on realtor.ca for $1.9 million. The website lists its annual property taxes at $20,723.54. The full tax-sale list is available under Public Notices on surrey.ca.
That section of the city website also lists permissive property-tax exemptions, mostly for churches, shelters and non-profit spaces. A separate notice lists Strawberry Hill Library as exempt from property tax.
