Richmond voters can cast last-minute ballots until 8 p.m. Saturday

Polls close at 8 p.m. Saturday in Richmond’s municipal election. Residents are choosing a mayor, eight city councillors and seven school trustees. The two-sided ballot lists 90 candidates: seven for mayor, 55 for city council and 28 for the board of education.

Long-time Mayor Malcolm Brodie is not running for re-election, so Richmond will have a new mayor by the end of the evening unless the vote is tied. Residents can find voting locations on the city’s election page: https://richmond.ca/city-hall/elections.htm.

The Richmond News says it will cover the election after polls close and attend several election watch parties, joining candidates as they follow the results. Coverage is available at https://www.richmond-news.com/.
