Family seeks answers 10 years after Surrey shooting death
IHIT is renewing its appeal for information in the 2016 killing of Jatinder “Michael” Sandhu, as his family marks a decade without answers.

The family of Jatinder “Michael” Sandhu is asking for information that could help solve his 2016 killing in Surrey, 10 years after the shooting.
Integrated Homicide Investigation Team investigators say Sandhu and another man were shot near 143A Street and 90A Avenue on July 23, 2016. Sandhu, 28, died in hospital; the other victim survived.
Police believe the shooting was gang-related, but say neither victim was the intended target and neither had a criminal record or known gang ties. In a video released on the anniversary, Sandhu’s mother and sister-in-law remembered him as loving, caring and cheerful.
His mother, Kal Sandhu, said the loss remains painful through birthdays, weddings and holidays, and urged anyone with information to come forward. IHIT says the investigation remains active and that even seemingly minor information could assist.
