West Broadway closure brings more commuter disruptions in Vancouver
West Broadway is closed to vehicle traffic between Alberta and Cambie streets for six months, detouring drivers and affecting routes 9 and 99 B-Line buses.

West Broadway in Vancouver is closed to vehicle traffic between Alberta and Cambie streets for the next six months as work continues on the Broadway Subway Project.
The closure will allow crews to repave the street and remove the traffic deck as construction advances on the Millennium Line portion of Broadway–City Hall Station. Most sidewalks in the area remain open to pedestrians.
Traffic is being redirected along Eighth Avenue between Alberta and Ash streets. New signs and crossing guards have been placed in the area to help direct people, although the detour may make access more difficult for businesses along the construction corridor.
TransLink has diverted the 9 and 99 B-Line buses to Eighth Avenue and shifted stops along Broadway. Riders are being advised to expect possible delays. The new line is expected to enter service in fall 2027.
