Road closures planned for Vancouver festivals and SeaWheeze half-marathon
Street festivals and the SeaWheeze Half-Marathon will close or delay traffic on several Vancouver roads this weekend, especially Saturday.

Vancouver drivers and transit users should expect road closures and delays this weekend as street festivals and the Lululemon SeaWheeze Half-Marathon take place across the city.
Pleasant Day Festival runs Saturday, Aug. 8, from noon to 8 p.m. on Main Street between 16th Avenue and King Edward. That stretch will close earlier in the morning and remain closed into the evening, with some nearby side streets also affected.
Light Up Chinatown! returns Aug. 8 and 9, with closures around the 500 block of Columbia Street and adjacent streets, as well as use of Memorial Monument Square. The free festival runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
About 10,000 runners are expected for the SeaWheeze Half-Marathon on Saturday. The race begins at 7 a.m. at Hastings and Hornby streets and finishes at 12:30 p.m. near Pender and Bute streets in Coal Harbour.
Organizers warn of early-morning and afternoon traffic impacts in downtown Vancouver, on the Burrard bridges, in Chinatown and along streets on both sides of False Creek. A full closure list and times are available online.
