Richmond RCMP says the community had a safe and successful Halloween night, with no major incidents reported. On Oct. 31, officers responded to calls for service while maintaining a visible presence throughout Richmond neighbourhoods, parks and commercial areas.
In the weeks before Halloween, Richmond RCMP worked on public safety through community outreach and education. The efforts included sharing safety tips on social media, producing a Halloween safety video and taking part in live television interviews to help residents prepare for a safe evening of trick-or-treating.
Cpl. Melissa Lui, Richmond RCMP’s media relations officer, said the positive outcome reflected what a community can achieve by working together. She thanked people who reviewed the safety messages, planned ahead and looked out for one another during the festivities. Richmond RCMP also thanked parents, guardians, drivers, volunteers, community partners and residents for helping keep the community safe, and thanked residents for continuing to make Richmond a safe place to live, work and celebrate.
