Vancouver Little Leaguer goes viral for listing retirement as dream job
Twelve-year-old Daniel Huang of Vancouver’s Little Mountain Baseball went viral after ESPN displayed “retirement” as his dream job during the Little League World Series.

A Vancouver player who helped represent Canada at the Little League World Series has found online fame for an answer that appeared during an ESPN broadcast.
Daniel Huang, 12, of Little Mountain Baseball listed retirement as his dream job on a player questionnaire. The answer appeared on screen during an at-bat against South Korea, surprising his coach, Brad Dorwart, but not his mother, Nicky, who said he is known for unconventional jokes.
A Barstool Sports post about the moment reached its nearly seven million followers on X, and Huang said his teammates have teased him about going viral for a joke rather than a play on the field.
Little Mountain won three games in Williamsport, the most by a Canadian team since 1998, before Japan eliminated it. Huang said it was difficult for the season to end but praised Japan’s sportsmanship.
The tournament also marked Huang’s final Little League season. He said he is not planning to start working anytime soon, preferring to enjoy and relax for the next few years.
