Surrey and White Rock Board of Trade launches tariff-impact survey
Local businesses are being asked how tariffs, trade tensions and changing Canada-U.S. trade conditions are affecting their operations.

The Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade has launched a Trade & Tariff Business Impact Survey as tariffs and a potential Canada-U.S. trade war loom. The organization is asking local businesses how tariffs, trade tensions and evolving trade conditions are affecting operations.
The survey asks about rising costs, supply-chain pressures, changes in market access and uncertainty around investment and growth. It follows a roundtable hosted last week by federal Housing and Infrastructure Minister and minister responsible for PacifiCan Gregor Robertson, involving B.C. chambers of commerce, boards of trade, sector associations and business organizations.
SWRBOT chief executive officer Joslyn Young attended and shared perspectives from Surrey and White Rock businesses. PacifiCan encouraged participating organizations to collect consolidated feedback from members to help inform federal tariff-response measures and future business supports.
Young said the board wants businesses’ direct accounts of what they are experiencing and need. The findings will identify pressing concerns and potentially helpful government supports or policy actions, and will inform the board’s advocacy with municipal, provincial and federal decision-makers.
Businesses are encouraged to complete the three- to five-minute survey whether they have experienced significant, limited or no direct impact so far.
