Firefighters bring Deep Cove waterfront-home blaze under control
A fire at a waterfront home near Strathcona Road and Strathcona Place in Deep Cove was brought under control Wednesday evening, North Vancouver Fire and Rescue says.
District of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue says crews were called to a fire at a waterfront home in Deep Cove on Wednesday evening. The home is on Strathcona Road near Strathcona Place.
In a social-media post shortly before 8 p.m., the department said crews were on scene and shared photos of firefighters battling the blaze. About an hour later, it said the fire was under control, though crews remained at the site.
The department asked people to avoid the area so crews could work and thanked IAFF Local 18 for responding with its fireboat. CityNews has sought further information from police, BC Emergency Health Services and the fire department.
