South Surrey art show celebrates nature
The free Off The Wall exhibition at Crescent Beach Community Gallery will feature nature-inspired work by three local painters from Sept. 18 to Oct. 11.

Off The Wall, a free late-summer exhibition at Crescent Beach Community Gallery in South Surrey, will run from Sept. 18 to Oct. 11. It will feature new nature-inspired work by local painters Julie McDowell, Terri Casella and Joy Peterson.
The artists describe their work as shaped by a shared love of the outdoors and a daily practice of exchanging critiques, inspiration and encouragement.
Casella will show acrylic paintings of coastal flora and shifting landscapes. Peterson’s oil paintings explore light, shadow and deep-forest atmospheres, while McDowell’s layered mixed-media work incorporates organic elements to capture nature’s raw energy.
The gallery is at 12160 Beecher St. A formal opening is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with opportunities to meet the artists during the exhibition.
