Langley City seeks artists for Douglas Park public-art mural
The city’s largest commissioned mural to date is planned for the new Douglas Park washroom building, with completion anticipated in June 2027.

Langley City is seeking artists to create a public-art mural around the recently completed washroom facility at Douglas Park. The work is expected to be finished in June 2027 and will be the city’s largest commissioned mural to date.
The mural is intended to celebrate Douglas Park as a place where the community connects and takes part in programs and events. Kim Hilton, director of Recreation, Culture and Community Services, said the project will reflect the park’s energy and create a welcoming public artwork for residents and visitors.
Individual artists from the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland, or groups of at least two artists, are invited to submit proposals that reflect Douglas Park’s vibrancy and diversity. The selected artist or group may receive an honorarium of up to $12,000: $4,000 at the project’s start and the remainder upon completion of the design, creation and installation.
Artwork submissions are due Dec. 10, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. Complete submission requirements and details are available from Langley City.
