WestJet completes cabin refresh on former Swoop and Sunwing aircraft
WestJet has refreshed the remaining all-economy aircraft formerly flown by Swoop and Sunwing, adding free Wi-Fi, revised seating and updated charging features.

WestJet says it has completed cabin upgrades on its remaining all-economy aircraft formerly operated by Swoop and Sunwing Airlines.
The refreshed cabins include upgraded Premium seating, a larger Extended Comfort section and updated Economy seats. New features include Telus-presented fast, free WestJet Wi-Fi, four-way adjustable headrests, holders for personal phones and tablets, modernized charging ports and coat hooks.
Samantha Taylor, WestJet Group’s executive vice-president and chief experience officer, said standardizing the narrowbody fleet will help the airline deliver a more consistent experience for passengers and staff.
The next phase begins in September, when WestJet will start refurbishing its legacy narrowbody aircraft. The airline expects the work to finish by the end of 2027, with about 14 Boeing 737-800s scheduled for updates this year.
WestJet has also restored the legroom on Boeing 737s that briefly operated with 180 seats; those aircraft now have 174 seats. The carrier says its full fleet will carry its teal-and-navy exterior design by the end of 2026.
