Surrey Police say a 40-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference after an alleged Aug. 9 incident at Bear Creek Park.

Surrey Police say a 40-year-old man has been charged after an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a female youth at Bear Creek Park on Aug. 9.
Police were called shortly after 8 p.m. after the girl reported being groped by a man, who then left the area. The girl was not injured, police said.
The Surrey Police Service released an image and appealed for information on Aug. 12. It says the man was arrested later that day and remains in custody pending his next scheduled court appearance on Aug. 17. He is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. The allegations have not been proven in court.
