Surrey Police Service (SPS) is asking people who have rented from a Surrey landlord to contact police with information about past interactions that may help an investigation. The appeal follows a charge against 48-year-old Balwinder Singh Bhandher. Police said the investigation began in January 2026 after allegations that a landlord entered a tenant’s suite without permission and inappropriately touched the tenant’s clothing.

The BC Prosecution Service approved one Criminal Code count of break and enter against Bhandher on Oct. 1, 2026, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. SPS officers arrested him on Oct. 14. He was released from custody with several conditions. The investigation remains active, and police say additional Criminal Code charges are possible.

Investigators are seeking information from anyone who may have rented from Bhandher, either in a basement suite at a residence in the 13800 block of 66 Avenue in Surrey or at a previous residence where he was the landlord. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation can call the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file 26-5005 (SP).
