Surrey city council candidate Gord Hepner prioritizes public safety, transportation and recreation
Surrey Connect candidate Gord Hepner supports advancing a planned 15-acre public safety campus in Anniedale-Tynehead and calls for stronger policing, emergency services, better roads and more recreation opportunities.

Gord Hepner, a Surrey Connect candidate for city council, describes himself as a lifelong Surrey resident, community leader, father and longtime youth sports coach. He lists public safety, transportation and recreation as his three priorities: safer neighbourhoods through stronger policing, emergency services and public safety infrastructure; better roads, less congestion and transportation infrastructure for growing communities; and more recreation opportunities, modern facilities and vibrant community spaces for families.
On public safety, Hepner says Surrey is growing rapidly and its public safety infrastructure must grow with it. He would support moving ahead with the planned 15-acre public safety campus in Anniedale-Tynehead to strengthen the training and operational capacity of police, fire, bylaw and emergency services. He would also advocate for modernized frontline facilities and a stronger neighbourhood presence, saying Surrey needs the people, resources and infrastructure to respond effectively now while planning responsibly for future needs.
Hepner cites his experience, deep Surrey roots, business leadership, a Master’s degree in Legal Studies and record of community service as reasons to vote for him.
