Wind warning issued for Metro Vancouver on Friday
Environment Canada expects sustained southeasterly winds near 70 km/h across parts of the Lower Mainland and Greater Victoria from Friday morning through the afternoon. Local utility outages are possible, and residents are urged to secure loose objects.

A wind warning was in effect Friday for much of Metro Vancouver, including White Rock, Surrey and Tsawwassen. Environment Canada said strong southeasterly winds were expected across the Lower Mainland and Greater Victoria, including coastal areas such as Tsawwassen, Boundary Bay and White Rock. Areas including Surrey and Langley were also likely to be affected.
Sustained winds near 70 kilometres per hour were expected to begin Friday morning, Nov. 6, and continue through the afternoon before weakening. Environment Canada said the winds were associated with a low-pressure system. The agency warned that local utility outages were possible and encouraged Metro Vancouver residents to secure loose objects.
