Surrey councillor candidate Mandeep Nagra lists a hospital, SkyTrain extension and tax freeze as priorities
The Safe Surrey Coalition candidate says he would dedicate city-owned land in Newton to a full-service hospital and approve the required city permits within 60 days.

Mandeep Nagra, a Surrey business owner and city councillor, is running for Surrey city council with the Safe Surrey Coalition. He says he cut red tape for small businesses and helped approve Campbell Heights, creating 20,000 jobs.
His three priorities are zero-per-cent property tax increases for four years, extending SkyTrain down King George Boulevard to Newton, and building a new full-service Surrey General Hospital in Newton.
On the hospital proposal, Nagra says Surrey and Vancouver each have about 730,000 people. Vancouver has six hospitals, while Surrey has one, with the province’s busiest emergency department. Fraser Health has no paediatric intensive care unit. The City of Surrey owns 7.2 acres at 6965 King George Boulevard in Newton. Nagra says he would vote on a Safe Surrey Coalition council to dedicate the land to a full-service hospital and approve every city permit within 60 days, as he says was done for the Cloverdale hospital.
Nagra says that, as a business owner raising his family in Surrey, he knows how to create jobs and keep taxes down, and delivers results rather than excuses.
