Surrey city council candidate Harry Bains outlines his priorities
The lawyer and father of two, who has served on Surrey city council and lived in the city for more than 35 years, lists investment, neighbourhood safety, transportation and recreation among his priorities.

Harry Bains is running for Surrey city council with Surrey Connect. A lawyer and father of two, he serves on council and says he has called Surrey home for more than 35 years.
His three top priorities are attracting new investment and helping Surrey businesses grow; making neighbourhoods safer through visible policing and coordinated enforcement; and improving transportation and recreation facilities as the city grows.
Bains says he will build on his work chairing Surrey’s Investment, Innovation and Business Committee to bring new investment to the city. He says businesses need predictable approval timelines so they can plan with confidence. He will continue advocating for infrastructure that supports business growth and pursue partnerships with industry and post-secondary institutions. He wants more residents to find good jobs close to home and to broaden the business tax base to help fund city services.
Bains says his background as a lawyer and business graduate informs his focus on making Surrey safer and creating more opportunities for families. Voters can reach him at 236-412-5575, visit www.surrey-connect.ca, or follow @HarryBainsSC on Instagram and X.
