Madhavee Inamdar launches Coquitlam mayoral campaign
Coquitlam resident and public-sector strategist Madhavee Inamdar has shifted from a planned council run to a bid for mayor, outlining four first-year priorities.

Madhavee Inamdar has launched a campaign for mayor of Coquitlam after initially planning to seek a council seat. The 22-year-old public-sector strategist said conversations with residents while door-knocking convinced her that the city needs a different level of leadership.
Her proposed first-year agenda includes infrastructure-capacity and climate-impact assessments before major discretionary growth approvals, plus an annual infrastructure scorecard. She also proposes an independent value-for-money review of city spending within her first 100 days.
Other commitments include a property-tax support package for low-income seniors, steps toward Living Wage Employer accreditation, a plan for walkable 15-minute neighbourhoods and extreme-weather refuges, and advocacy for mental-health services at the səmiq̓ʷəʔelə/Riverview grounds under Indigenous stewardship.
Inamdar is co-founder of the Coquitlam-based Inclusive AI Foundation and has worked in governance, policy and public-sector administration.
