Cloverdale Chamber to host seven civic-slate open houses before municipal election
The non-partisan events run Sept. 9 to 21 and will give East Surrey voters opportunities to meet municipal slates.

The Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce will host seven open houses for civic slates before Surrey’s Oct. 17, 2026 municipal election.
Executive director Scott Wheatley said the events are non-partisan opportunities for voters in Cloverdale, Clayton and Campbell Heights to hear about issues affecting East Surrey. Each slate will have its own open house at the Cloverdale Chamber Office from 5 to 7 p.m.
The sessions include one-minute candidate introductions, a short discussion using Chamber-selected questions, and informal conversation afterward. Wheatley said every slate is booked, though he did not know which candidates each slate would send.
The schedule is: Imagine Surrey, led by mayoral candidate Mike Starchuk, Sept. 9; Safe Surrey Coalition and Doug McCallum, Sept. 11; Surrey Now and Troy Van Vliet, Sept. 14; Surrey Connect and Brenda Locke, Sept. 15; Surrey First and Linda Annis, Sept. 17; Conservative Party of Surrey and Honveer Singh Randhawa, Sept. 18; and New Surrey+ and Igal Ammons II, Sept. 21.
