Burnaby is bringing back two popular Halloween events: Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum and Central Spark, the city’s signature Halloween celebration. A range of festive activities will also take place across the city. Mayor Mike Hurley said Burnaby is the place to be for Halloween events, noting that many people put Haunted Village and Central Spark on their must-do lists. He said the city looks forward to welcoming everyone back this year.

A series of family-friendly events runs from Oct. 23 to Nov. 1. Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum is open Friday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Oct. 25, and again Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. each day. Visitors can explore the 10-acre open-air site and encounter roving entertainment and performers, lighting and special effects, and Halloween favourites. Something frightful lurks among the carousel horses, and visitors are invited to venture in if they dare. DJ Drac and his dancers are back by popular demand to get the dance floor moving.

Advance admission to Haunted Village is $12, or $7 for children aged 2 to 12. Admission on the day is $15, or $10 for children aged 2 to 12. Tickets are available online or by calling the Shadbolt Centre Box Office at 604-205-3000. The location is Burnaby Village Museum, 6501 Deer Lake Avenue.

Central Spark runs Friday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Central Park, at Kingsway and Patterson Avenue. Fireworks are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. The event features a DJ dance party, food trucks, live entertainment, a drone light display and a fireworks finale.
