Surrey receives $655,247 rebate for civic energy upgrades
The City of Surrey says FortisBC has provided a $655,247 rebate for five energy-efficiency projects at civic facilities, supporting emissions and cost reductions.

The City of Surrey says it has received a $655,247 FortisBC rebate for five energy-efficiency projects in civic buildings.
The largest project was at the Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex, where upgrades to heat recovery, heating and ventilation systems, and pool operations are intended to reduce natural-gas use and improve efficiency.
The city said the combined annual energy savings from the five projects exceed the Surrey Operations Centre's total annual energy consumption. It described the work as part of progress toward its Corporate Climate Action Strategy goals.
FortisBC has also supported a building-envelope upgrade underway at Surrey Police Service headquarters and several energy studies at city libraries, according to the city.
