Man charged after four alleged downtown Vancouver assaults
Vancouver police say a 50-year-old man faces multiple charges after four alleged unprovoked assaults within about 30 minutes Saturday afternoon.

A 50-year-old man has been charged in connection with four alleged unprovoked assaults in downtown Vancouver on Saturday, Vancouver Police Department says.
Police allege that shortly after 2:40 p.m., the man entered a business near Homer and Dunsmuir streets, demanded money from workers and customers, and threw an object that caused minor injuries to two employees.
Investigators believe the same man then asked a pedestrian for money on Beatty Street and allegedly punched her after she refused. About 10 minutes later, another person was allegedly punched without an exchange of words near Cambie and Cordova streets.
Marc Ledoux faces two counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, one count of uttering threats and one count of mischief. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
Const. Megan Lui said officers identified and arrested a suspect through video canvassing and proactive patrols. Police believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone affected or who witnessed the incidents to contact Vancouver Police Department.
