Bright Nights extends its partnership with Noel Surrey for three years
The B.C. Firefighters Burn Fund has agreed to partner with Noel Surrey for three more years, keeping Bright Nights at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds through the 2028 Christmas season. This year's festival includes more than one million lights, family activities and a contribution from every ticket sold to the Burn Fund.

The B.C. Firefighters Burn Fund has agreed to partner with Noel Surrey for three more years. Under the agreement, Bright Nights will be held at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds as part of Noel Surrey’s festival of light through the 2028 Christmas season.
The partnership was announced in September at Surrey Firefighters Local 1271, the former historic Port Kells Fire Hall No. 7, during the launch celebration for Noel Surrey 2026. Burn Fund president Todd Schierling said he was very happy Bright Nights has a stable home for the next few years.
Schierling said Bright Nights has been part of the holiday season for decades. Since the 1980s, it has grown into an annual gathering that brings thousands of people together while raising money to support burn survivors. He said that although the event features millions of lights and the magic and excitement of Christmas, its heart is community: professional firefighters, volunteers and nurses use their time off to put up lights and displays, creating an opportunity for families to spend time together and have fun. He said the effort ultimately goes toward directly helping people who need it most.
Schierling told the Cloverdale Reporter that the agreement’s stability means a lot to the Burn Fund, allowing it to focus on fundraising and growing Bright Nights. He encouraged people to visit the Cloverdale Fairgrounds this Christmas season, describing the event as a “winter wonderland” with music, great food, Santa, arts and crafts, and a magical outdoor Bright Nights loop.
Bright Nights is the B.C. Professional Firefighters Burn Fund’s largest annual fundraiser. This year, as part of Noel Surrey, a portion of every ticket sold will support the Burn Fund. Noel Surrey will display more than one million lights, and the Cloverdale Agriplex will again be transformed into Noel Village. The festival will also feature a Bavarian Plaza, Jack Frost’s Bar, Noel Village Bar, Winter Spice Kitchen, a dining hub, food trucks and fire pits.
Tickets include free parking, admission to the grounds and Bright Nights, photos with Santa and with Green and Grumpy One, meet-and-greets and singalongs with the Snow Sisters, unlimited Ferris wheel rides, unlimited rides on the Candy Cane Slide for ages 6 to 12, an illuminated playground with LED seesaws and swings, live music and dance performances, face painting, balloon twisting, crafts, and Rudolph’s Ranch Ride-On-Reindeers for ages 2 to 6.
Noel Surrey will be open daily from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The festival runs from Nov. 27 to Dec. 29, but will be closed on Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 24 and 25. Tickets are on sale now at noelfestival.com. They cost $18 to $20 for youth ages 7 to 18 and seniors 65 and older, and $24 to $27 for adults. Service fees of approximately $3 to $4.50 per ticket and taxes are extra. Children 6 and under are free.
