Canadian Walk for Veterans returns to White Rock on Sept. 27
White Rock’s Canadian Walk for Veterans will return Sept. 27, raising funds for programs supporting veterans, active service members and their families.

Peninsula residents are invited to support veterans, active service members and their families at White Rock’s local Canadian Walk for Veterans on Sunday, Sept. 27.
The eighth annual event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Memorial Park, beside the White Rock Museum and Archives on the West Beach waterfront. It is one of 30 walks planned across Canada this year, including events in 29 cities and a virtual walk.
True Patriot Love Foundation, which supports the health and well-being of Canada’s military community, organizes the national fundraiser. Proceeds will support its national and community-based programs, including mental health services, physical rehabilitation and transition support.
The 2026 theme, Mental Health: Stronger Together: “No One Heals Alone,” highlights community, compassion and collective action. Sources, a local sponsor, recently opened a veterans’ mental-health counselling program in Nanaimo.
Anthony Manning, one of the event’s team leaders alongside founders Marc Burchell and Dr. Matthew Kane, said the walk gives Canadians an opportunity to learn about challenges facing veterans and their families, while showing gratitude through awareness, fundraising and community participation.
Other White Rock supporters include Comfort Keepers, Brella, the Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society, Royal Canadian Search and Rescue, Amar Singh and Bothwin Capital. Entertainment will be provided by Larrie Forbes and the Vancouver Naval Veterans Band, the Surrey Fire Fighters Drum and Pipe Band, and the Amazing Grace Choir.
Registered participants will receive the official 2026 Canadian Walk for Veterans challenge coin, made by veteran-owned Sharkz Coins of Esquimalt, British Columbia. Registration and information are available at canadianwalkforveterans.com/white-rock/.
