Highway 1 partly closed in Burnaby after man’s body found on roadway
Burnaby RCMP say the body was found in an eastbound lane near the Kensington Avenue exit, with injuries consistent with a vehicle strike. Police are seeking dashcam footage from drivers in the area.

Police were called to Highway 1 in Burnaby on Tuesday morning after a man’s body was found on the roadway. Burnaby RCMP said the body was in the eastbound lane near the Kensington Avenue exit and had injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
The eastbound area has been closed while BC Highway Patrol investigates whether the man was hit by a vehicle that then left the scene. The eastbound Kensington Avenue on-ramp to Highway 1 is also closed.
Police are asking anyone who drove on Highway 1 near Kensington Avenue between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday to check their dashcam footage for video that may help the investigation.
