Surrey man wins $32 million Gold Ball jackpot and plans to buy a house and dream car
Amritpal S. won the Gold Ball jackpot in the Sept. 19 Lotto 6/49 draw. He says he is still deciding how to use the prize and wants to help his family.

Amritpal S. of Surrey won the Gold Ball jackpot on a Lotto 6/49 ticket last month. The B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC) says he went to White Rock to clear his head after a busy day at work. He saw that someone in Surrey had won and decided to check his ticket. Using his phone, he learned he had won $32 million in the Sept. 19 draw. He told the BCLC that he was confused by the amount, first reading it as $32,000 and checking it on other phones because he could not process the news. His sister was the first person he told; she was speechless and began to cry.
Amritpal said he is still considering what to do with the prize. He wants to help his parents and sister and buy a house and some cars. He said that although he knows he can buy anything he wants, he needs more time to decide. His dream car is a Dodge Challenger. “I’m so happy! This will change my life,” he said.
The BCLC says the ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 152 Street and 104 Avenue. The Gold Ball is a guaranteed prize drawn in each Lotto 6/49 game. If a white ball is drawn, the prize is $1 million; the jackpot grows until a gold ball is drawn. The odds of winning a Gold Ball draw depend on how many tickets were purchased.
