Burnaby RCMP recover $2,400 in sunglasses, arrest two after Metrotown theft
Police say proactive mall patrols led to the arrests within minutes of an Aug. 20 theft report, and the merchandise was returned to the retailer.

Burnaby RCMP say officers recovered $2,400 worth of stolen sunglasses and arrested two suspects within minutes of a reported theft at Metrotown mall.
Police were conducting proactive patrols shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 when they were alerted to a store theft. A man was arrested within two minutes, followed by a woman about four minutes later. Investigators returned the sunglasses to the retailer.
Sgt. Neil Jones said retail theft harms businesses, employees and customers, and police will continue efforts to prevent and disrupt retail crime. One suspect was initially held on an unrelated Vancouver warrant. Both have since been released pending future court appearances.
